Modern methods of treatment

Early diagnosis

We have been treating since 1989

Periodontium is a periodontal tissue, the main function of which is to keep the tooth in the alveoli (tooth cavity). The periodontium consists of gums, periodontium, tooth cementum, periosteum and alveolar processes.

The DentalKnysh dental clinic treats the following periodontal diseases:

It is important to understand that without treatment, gum disease can lead to tooth loss. Therefore, you should consult a periodontist, at least at the first signs of periodontal disease (bleeding gums). It is better to conduct a routine examination and professional hygiene twice a year.

Treatment of gingivitis

Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums without breaking the integrity of the gingival junction. It is a mild form of periodontal disease that causes redness, swelling, changes in normal forms, discomfort and bleeding gums, especially during a tooth brushing or biting something hard, such as an apple.

Treatment of gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) depends on the degree of the disease and includes professional brushing (duration of the procedure is 30-60 minutes), activation of home oral hygiene, as well as the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. In progressive cases, the use of antibiotics is possible, as well as surgery.

If gingivitis is left untreated, it will progress to a more serious disease that is periodontitis.

Treatment of periodontiti

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the tissues surrounding the tooth (periodontium), resulting in the destruction of the ligaments that connect the tooth to the jaw bone. In this disease, in addition to bleeding gums and bad breath, the patient is concerned about itching, pain, swelling, abscesses and purulent pockets may form.

Treatment of periodontitis is to carry out professional oral hygiene, use of antiseptics, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, and the use of surgical methods.

Periodontitis is a very serious periodontal disease, the lack of forehanded treatment can lead to tooth loss. That is why it is so important to prevent and visit the dentist once every six months.

In the treatment of periodontitis, a professional oral hygiene is performed, antibiotics and antiseptics are used, and surgical treatment is performed.

In the tooth of the gingival sulcus, soft dental plaque is mineralized and turns into hard calculus. It is very tightly attached to the surface of the neck of the tooth.

Tartar microorganisms secrete toxins that trigger inflammation in the gums. Under the influence of inflammation, not only the bone is destroyed, but also the periodontal attachment of the tooth to the bone, forming periodontal pockets in the gums.

Periodontal pockets are such an area, on the width and depth of which destruction of bone tissue has occurred, there is no attachment of the gums to the surface of the tooth root, and the defect itself is filled with granulation tissue, dental deposits or pus.

Patients often call periodontal pockets tooth pockets, gum pockets, and gum pockets. Such gingival pockets can be detected by probing with special periodontal probes or X-ray.

Periodontal pockets are not just deformation of the periodontium (gums). This is a serious pathology that requires adequate and timely treatment, the absence of which can lead to serious complications.

A periodontal abscess occurs most often. This pathology is accompanied by strong tooth mobility and pain. In the absence of proper treatment, the tooth completely falls out of the alveolar cavity.

When deep periodontal pockets of 4-5 mm have formed, bone tissue is partially replaced by granulation tissue. This process essentially becomes irreversible, regardless of local and general anti-inflammatory therapy, treatment with antibiotics, laser, removal of dental deposits, etc.

But this process can be stopped at this stage and prevent the disease from developing deeper, which will help save the teeth.

Photo report of periodontal treatment and implantation of the full upper jaw and partial lower jaw, removal of all teeth on the upper jaw and some teeth on the lower jaw (there were large inflammatory processes and cysts on the tips of the roots of the teeth).

In one operation, all the necessary teeth were removed and 10 implants and a temporary plastic prosthesis were placed on the implants, which allowed the patient to have teeth while the implants took root.

After 6 months, they replaced the temporary prosthesis and the permanent non-removable zirconium structure, and the result is such a beautiful smile 2024-02-06
